  • FAQ

Here are answers to common questions about my approach to therapy, private-pay model, and areas of focus.

    Why don’t you take insurance?

I operate as a private-pay practice. This structure allows therapy to remain more direct and focused on what brings you in, rather than external administrative requirements.

    Not using insurance means:

    • No required diagnoses
    • No third party access to your records
    • No unexpected changes to coverage or session limits

Insurance companies can sometimes change coverage decisions after services are provided, which can interrupt continuity of care. I work outside of insurance so that therapy can remain more flexible and focused on your goals rather than external requirements.

If you’re unsure whether private pay feels like the right fit, I’m happy to talk it through with you.

Do you offer any reduced-fee slots?

A small number of reduced-fee sessions are available. This structure allows me to keep the practice sustainable while still making space for some flexibility.

What if I don’t fall within one of your focus areas? Can I still book a session?

Yes. My areas of focus reflect my primary training and experience, but I also work with people who may not fit neatly into those categories.

I heard that you offer reflective writing groups for women that are not therapy. Can I find out more about that?

Yes. I keep therapy services and non-therapy offerings separate, so details about writing groups are not shared on this website. If you’re interested, I’m happy to provide more information by email or phone.
