  • FAQ

Here are answers to common questions about my approach to therapy, private-pay model, and areas of focus.

    Why don’t you take insurance?

I operate as a private-pay practice. This allows therapy to stay focused on the work you’re focused on rather than insurance requirements or external limitations.

    This also means:

    • No required diagnosis for billing purposes
    • No third-party access to your records
    • No session limits determined by insurance

Insurance coverage can sometimes change or end unexpectedly, which can interrupt continuity of care. Working outside of insurance allows for more consistency and flexibility over time.

If you’re unsure whether private pay is a good fit for you, you’re welcome to reach out and talk it through.

Do you offer any reduced-fee slots?

A small number of reduced-fee sessions are available. These are limited and typically fill quickly. This helps keep the practice sustainable while allowing for some flexibility in access.

What if I don’t fall within one of your focus areas? Can I still book a session?

Yes. My areas of focus reflect my primary training and experience, but I also work with people outside those categories when there is a good fit.

I heard that you offer reflective writing groups for women that are not therapy. Can I find out more about that?

I offer reflective writing groups that are separate from therapy. Because they are not clinical services, I keep details off this site. If you’re interested, you’re welcome to reach out by email or phone.
