FAQ
Here are answers to common questions about my approach to therapy, private-pay model, and areas of focus.
Why don’t you take insurance?
I operate as a private-pay practice. This allows therapy to remain private, predictable, and centered on your needs rather than insurance rules.
Not using insurance means:
- No required diagnoses
- No third party access to your records
- No unexpected changes to coverage or session limits
Insurance companies may also retroactively deny or reclaim payment after therapy has taken place, which can interfere with consistent, meaningful work. I choose not to practice under those constraints.
If you’re unsure whether a private-pay model is the right fit for you, I’m happy to talk through your options.
Do you offer any reduced-fee slots?
A small number of reduced-fee sessions are available. This structure allows me to offer thoughtful, sustainable care while maintaining the integrity of the practice.
What if I don’t fall within one of your focus areas? Can I still book a session?
Yes. My areas of focus reflect my primary training and experience, but I also work with clients who may not fit neatly into those categories. Non-autistic (allistic) adults are welcome.
I heard that you offer reflective writing groups for women that are not therapy. Can I find out more about that?
Yes. I intentionally keep therapy services and non-therapy offerings separate, so details about writing groups are not shared on this website. If you’re interested, I’m happy to provide more information by email or phone.
